Biography

Jayquan has always had a passion for music. Being surrounded by entertainers all his life, Jayquan got his first taste of the business hanging around with his mother, who was a dancer for the legendary Tito Puente, and his father who was lead singer of a Doo-Wop group called The Emeralds.

As Jayquan got older he formed a group with his friends. They spent time dancing and performing with various artists and were finally discovered. The group was called the Nas-T Boyz, and they were known for their unique choreography and breathtaking performances. They had hits including “What I’m Feeling”, “The Search”, and “Intimate Strangers”. Those hits led them to a nomination for the Freestlye Dance Music Awards.

Later, Jayquan and Tito Puente Jr. formed a group calling themselves
“The Latin Rhythm”. Together they made many hits including “Ritmo Latino”, “Oye Como Va” and “Azucar”. This collaboration allowed Jayquan the opportunity to be a part of Music Videos, Movies and TV Shows. The remix of “Oye Como Va” won them the 1997 Latin Billboard Award for Video of the Year. They toured around the world to places such as Puerto Rico, Mexico, Miami, California, New York, Alaska, Hondouras, etc. They also performed along side of artists such as Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, Marky Mark, La India, Marc Anthony and many well known freestyle and latin artists.

Still representing Nas-T Boyz, Jayquan is also pursuing his solo career.
He continues performing all over the United States at various events, festivals, club venues, private parties, etc. In addition, he donates his time performing for charity events focusing on raising money for good causes. He has also recently taken on the role of an actor, and is currently filming for an upcoming movie. As a multi-talented vocalist, his style ranges include R&B, Pop, Latin and a bit of Reggaeton. His upcoming album will surely be another musical masterpiece.

Jayquan siempre ha tenido una pasión para la música. Estando rodeado por artistas toda su vida, Jayquan consiguió su primer sabor del negocio bajo la compania de su madre, quien fue una bailarina para el legendario Tito Puente , y por su padre quien fue un cantante para el grupo de Doo-Wop llamado "Las Esmeraldas".

Al pasar del tiempo Jayquan formó un grupo con sus amigos, pasaban el tiempo realizando nuevas coreografías y actos con varios artistas, hasta que finalmente fueron descubiertos.
El grupo se llamaba Nas-T Boyz. quiénes fueron reconocidos por sus extraordinarias coreografías y desempeños. Sus éxitos incluyen "What I'm Feeling", "The Search" y "Intimate Strangers". Exitos denominados para los Premios de Música de Baile Freestlye.

Más tarde, Jayquan y Tito Puente Jr. formaron un grupo llamando "El Ritmo Latino". Juntos hicieron muchos éxitos incluyendo "Ritmo Latino", "Oye Como Va" y "Azúcar". Esta colaboración le permitió a Jayquan la oportunidad de ser parte de Videos de Música, Exposiciones de Películas y Televisión. La nueva realización de "Oye Como Va" ganó en 1997 el Latín Billboard Award como el Vídeo del Año. Ambos viajaron alrededor del mundo a lugares como Puerto Rico, México, Miami, California, Nueva York, Alaska, Honduras, etc. Realizaron espectáculos junto a artistas de la talla de, Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, Marky Mark, La India, Marc Anthony, entre otros conocidos.

Jayquan está persiguiendo actualmente su carrera a solas de la música.
Él continúa realizando por todas partes los Estados Unidos en los varios acontecimientos, los festivales, los lugares del club, los partidos privados, el etc. Además, él dona su hora que se realiza para los acontecimientos de la caridad que se centran en el aumento del dinero para las buenas causas. Actualmente esta actuando en varias películas.

El estilo multi-talentoso de Jayquan incluye Música Latina, Reggaeton, R&B y Pop.
Su próximo álbum será sin duda alguna otra obra maestra musical.
